Deliberation

I fancied myself a calculated person, but having a daughter seems to have amplified that trait.

Alone in the forest, I was trying to decide whether I wanted to follow a familiar path, or venture into a stretch of the forest I hadn’t explored. I chose the latter because I imagined it to be a situation where an example could be set.

I want her to push forward, to discover, to live. I chose the unfamiliar route, only because an imaginary set of eyes were watching.

20 ft or so into a new territory, I found another set of eyes, a few inches off the forest floor, staring up at me. A Wood Turtle.

An unexpected result of my daughter being with me, even when she wasn’t.

Thanks June.
